It was supposed to be a smaller version of the F-150 based on a mid-sized truck from South Africa that uses the Ranger name. Now it seems Ford decided to put aside those plans. The new truck was to have been built at the facility in Wayne, Michigan, but Ford will now retool that plant to produce small cars. The funding for the F-100 will now be utilized to further the EcoBoost technology that extends fuel economy.
